CheckFirst offers engaging, practical presentations on investing basics and fraud awareness designed to help individuals make informed financial decisions and recognize common investment scams.

If you lead or are a member of a medical organization, Indigenous nation or organization, community support group, educational institution, not-for-profit, or fraud prevention initiative, our free, unbiased programming and resources are always available. Our programs can be tailored to your audience’s needs and delivered in the format that works best for your group.

Investing 101 classes

Whether you’re just starting out with investing or looking to hone your skills, it’s never too late to learn. The ASC offers an in-class Investing 101 course with Chinook Learning Services in Calgary and Metro Continuing Education in Edmonton.

Investing 101 is a plain-language course designed to enhance your financial literacy including developing a foundational overview of the stock market, investing, compound interest, and risk and return. You’ll also learn the basics on how to make well-informed investing decisions and how to spot and avoid investment fraud. The class is offered multiple times a year so check back if these dates don’t fit your schedule.
